997 Rear bumper upgrade or not

Recommended Posts

I was hit yesterday, not hard but hard enough to break the bumperette and I can tell that the bumper is now uneven if you look at the exhaust tips (it's pushed in more on one side than the other).

To fix it right I'm thinking the entire bumper, at a minimum, will need to be replaced.

If the rear bumper is going to be replaced should I upgrade to a different type? I always liked the GT exhaust out the center and maybe I should look at turning this negative into a positive.

I have read about many upgrades and I figure it is a matter of taste. Thoughts from members that are contemplating the same, have done it, or have a strong opinion would be appreciated.

I just saw that Sunset Porsche is now offering "update kits" for both the rear and the front bumper to 997.2 spec as bundles. Of course it's all a matter of taste. But if I were unfortunate enough to have a crumpled bumper, I'd look at updating to the factory LEDs...

I'm afraid the mod on the back end will make the front end look out of place. Leaning towards keeping it the way it is but I still like the center exhaust of the GT's and wouldn't mind getting that look. Thanks to all for your opinions.
