Air-Ride Compressor Difference(s)

Recommended Posts

I have a 2006 Cayenne 3.2L. need to be having my air compressor replaced. I understand that the part number is 955.358.901.01. However a search reveals another air compressor for the Cayenne but seems to be associated with 04 models. Part number is 7L0616006c. The difference from the pics seems to be the bracket and that the latter seems much cheaper, $2xx as compared to $7xx.

But can anyone tell me if the air compressor is the same?

Thanks in advance

955.358.901.04 is current compressor part number for all MY2003 - MY2010 Cayennes.

So they have revised the compressor and use it all models.

US MSRP $1583.73 - so shop around.

If it only a pressure problem, compressor run but provides no or too little pressed air, is there a repair set available at every VW dealer for a reasonable price.

I need a recommendation for a home air compressor for filling my bicycle and car tires.... not much more than that.

      - Size? I don't want the motor running if I have to fill two 75 Lb bicycle tires
      - Hoses? Do I want a small unit that I can move around or a bigger one with long hoses? I friend had a small unit I didn't like as the hoses were hard plastic and not very flexible.
      - Accessories? Basic stuff I will need or want? Fill presta and schrader nipples.
      - Other uses for these compressors?

I have a battery powered unit now and find it a bit of a pain... it is noisy (I really don't like this noise) and way too slow.
