3rd Brake Light Cover Install

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been through the removal and installation of the 3rd brake light cover, as would be done on an aerokit? (996)

This is the long piece that replaces the current brake light, and has the "PORSCHE" logo on it, so the brake light is no longer visible, and the rear wing has the other light in it. Just need info on the existing one being removed/replaced.

I need some step by step info if you have it.

Thanks!

Are you speaking of the Carrera fixed spoiler for Cabs?

1. Remove the standard third brake light from under the rear window. Wrap the 2-pin plug with Styrofoam and fasten it in the cut-out with adhesive tape.

2. Engage the cover with the Porsche logo in the cut-out.

I like that price better than Suncoast that is asking $184 for it! Anyone know where I can order one for the right price....

Why don't you just leave the 3rd brake light in place? I did when I installed a factory spoiler. I didn't want to hassle painting the cover and so on. Besides, the cover looks kind of lame. IMHO.
