Whistling sound comes at high speeds...can any one help me

Recommended Posts

Hey guys i recently bought my first Porsche it's a 2005 Cayenne Turbo and im in love with it, but recently there is this whistleing noise that seems like its coming from under the height control/gear box when im driving a high speeds as in like 50-60 mph....and this whistling noise gets louder and louder as you accelerate and go at higher speeds. Then as i hit the break the noise starts to die down and eventually goes away again until i get around 40mph again. This doesnt happen frequently but i just took it on a trip to St. Louis and about half way through the noise started and wouldn't go away til we got there, which was for about 3 hours!

lemme know what you guys think it is or what it could be....

Thanks guys

There was a door seal issue on early models which cause noise at speed but I thought it was noticable at all speeds. There is not much in the way of running gear below that area, the cardan shaft make low frequency droan noises rather than high frequency stuff. Did you look underneath, are all the covers still on ? could be wind noise
