2000 996 coupe 6-speed: seat belt attachment point plastic cover

Recommended Posts

It is just the external cover. The belt is bolted to the car the near the door window and a plastic cover is installed on top of the belt attachment system. On the driver side the plastic cover is missing. I have bought a replacement cover, but I cannot install it, it doesn't appear to fit. I want to remove the plastic cover on the passenger side to compare it with the part that I bought and see if I have have bought the correct part. But I don't know how this plastic cover is supposed to come off.

Thanks

Sorry, Loren, I had missed your reply to my previous post. Using your diagram I was able to remove the plastic cover on the passenger side. The problem is that the part that I bought is not just the cover, but the cover plus another part that is attached to it (in your diagram the assembly is #8). Now I need to remove this other part from the cover (any ideas about how to do this?) and install the cover. To answer the question of Logray my car is a 2000 6 speed coupe 996.

Thanks

The Porsche parts list shows:

996-803-521-00-A03 is the correct part for your MY car - but it has been replaced with 997-803-521-00-A03.

I guess you could try the earlier version if the one got does not fit 996-803-541-00-01C it is only US MSRP $2.22
