I have a 97' tip Boxster with a blown front seal and unfortunately, I broke the clutch basket on the axle while trying to remove it from the case (**** YouTube tutorials, didn't think it through). I was planning on replacing the bushing and seal with the oversized one and getting my oil pump machined so that the bushing would fit.... But now I have broken even more parts in my attempts to fix it.
SO! I have a parts car that is a 98' manual Boxster. How realistic is a conversion from tip to manual? I would be doing it with the help of a few friends.

I have a 97 tiptronic non turbo boxster. I blew my front seal so I need to rebuild my tranny. I just need to know what the parts numbers are for the bushing and seal.... I cant seem to find em and want to make sure I order the right parts.
I heard you can actually order a larger bearing and seal and then machine out the tranny where it goes into and in turn avoid this sort of issue for much longer.. if that helps identify what im needing here im sorry im sort of lacking in the lingo im still learning and will update with a better description once i can go over it again with the boyfriend.

Hi guys.Finnally got the Boxster on the road after an enforced year stood.It sounded a bit rattly when I started it up.I have done about 50 miles in it since all short journeys, and it still making the same noise.Not knowing much about these engines not sure if it's something more serious than tapped, alternator bearing???.Im not driving it and will get it recovered to an Indy for assessment, so any suggestions will be gratefully received. Hopefully other club members will chime in.
I wonder if anyone reads these.... I am hopeful. :)
I have a 2008 Cayenne GTS with an awesome manual transmission. I can not find much of anything on when to replace the transmission fluid... nor how to replace the fluid. I am quite familiar with the automatic transmission fluid change (in my previous CTTS), there is next to no documentation on the manual GTS.
I have searched google and the forums for some answer or clue.... nadda. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
While researching another problem with my Boxster, I noticed a company is advertising an oil fed intermediate shaft bearing kit, which seems to use a modified cover and a hose to feed oil to the intermediate shaft bearing..
the kit is here..
Has anyone installed it or know if it is any good?
My old 986 Boxster had an upgraded IMS bearing installed when I bought the car, and I thought it was a worthwhile thing to do.. But was told the 987 needed an engine teardown to replace the bearing.. This kit seems to just feed engine oil into the bearing, which from what I have read would solve the problems with failure.. But really.. should this kit do the trick?
