Rear speaker and base upgrade

Recommended Posts

I searched through the posts for info on this, but didn't find what I was looking for so...

I'm trying to put rear speakers and some bass in my 2000 boxster for around $500 (give or take - the point being that I need better than what I've got, but not the best on the block). I currently have the speaker enclosure for the rear shelf, but it's empty.

I bought a Clarion SRV-303 enclosed powered sub (7") hoping to fit in under the passenger seat, but that thing's bigger than I though it would be. I don't know if it's going to work. I just saw some older posts about the Bose rear shelf with rear speakers and powered subs (two 5.25" subs, I think). Can anyone tell me how good that whole unit is, about what it costs, and whether there's any problem fitting in in a 2000 Boxster?

I also saw other posts referring to sub-woofer solutions that don't mess up the stock look, but didn't see the products listed. There was one in particular that referred to a powered sub that went under the passenger seat, and I'd be interested in learning about that.

Anything you guys can tell me will be appreciated.
