Ipod help please 2002 c4s with cdr23

Recommended Posts

Hi there ive just returned to porsche and got myself a 2002 c4s, love everything about it apart from im struggling to find out how i can connect a iphone / ipod.

From what i understand the cdr23 is a most bus stereo and it only has very expensive ways of adding a aux in.

But i also dont think the most bus system came into the 996 untill 2003, so im a bit confused!? I have a amp in the front, but no disc changer, i also dont think i have bose as theres no badges on the door speaker grills, neither is there a rear speaker box.

If u can help at all id be very grateful, it think i have a stereo fitted that wasnt ment to be fitted till 12 months later :/

Forgot to say it has the cdr23 stereo fitted

AFAIK, CDR23 is MOST as you say so you would need to add something like the Gateway500 (Dension) to add iPod. To use the iPhone (for calls etc., your car must be fitted with the phone buttons for the gateway solution to work.

I have a 2003 Boxster with the CDR23 radio and external amplifier mounted in the front trunk.  There are two multi-pin connectors, a fiber optic connector and an antenna connector on the rear of the head unit.  The display on the head unit in the car seems to be fine as the display appears to be working as it should.  The problem is no sound out of any speakers.  The problem was intermittent for quite a while as sometimes when I started the car I would have sound from  the speakers and other times no sound.  Sometimes I would be driving and the sound would suddenly just quit.  Now there is no sound at all, but the head unit display still appears to be working ok.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

When battery is dead the electrical system is down, as is the trunk for accessing battery.

I have tried connecting positive to red fuse and negative to door arm.  I ran current using jump starter but could not get latch to open.  Does anyone have any other ideas to open truck, e.g. force lift?  Thanks in advance.

Is this also true for current year C4S?

I replced the CDR23 with Seicane Android HU.  It comes with Canbus adapter and I purchaed MOST adapter with it to make it work with factory Bose amp.
The unit powers up fine, but the MOST adapter needs to have power to work.  Any suggestion where can I connect the three wires listed in the pic to?  I assume the main socket that was connected to the CDR23 has power, but don’t know which wire is which.  How easy would it be to get power from lighter adapter aux?  I am planning to replace that lighter adapter with USB port for the HU as well.

      Thanks

I need to replace the rear tires on my 2007 C4s and it turns out the Michelin Pilot Super Sports are completely unavailable, with no ETA. Even if one makes allowance for the odd size and likely small demand, that is still pretty shocking. What alternative have you tried and what do you recommend? Car is a daily driver, street driven, I value quiet running (not that our cars are *that* quite, but would rather not add running noise).
