Installed NHD exhaust on 2000 S

Recommended Posts

Previously posted that cats declared dead by Porsche shop, needed new cats. Learned that primary cats integrated in headers. If I had to replace those I might as well do the whole system (thanks for the rebate Uncle Sam :D ).

I just completed a DIY install of the NHD exhaust system from Maxspeed Motorsports on my 2000 S. Headers, mid-pipes, muffler, 4 O2 sensors (also did K&N air filter). I'm writing to let you know this is a very doable project, rate it 3 on scale of 5. No special tools required. All bolt on, and everything accessible (though you do have to work by feel to unbolt stock muffler from tranny bracket). Good download instructions from Maxspeed. Heed usual warnings about using jack-stands, and hot surfaces. You are going to get very dirty.

I'm very happy with quality, look and sound of this system, as well as my experience with Maxspeed. Vendor claims 30% increase in power (i.e.:250 --> 325). All I can verify is that it seems much quicker to me.
