[89 Carrera 3.2] Doors immediately unlocking themselves after locking?

Recommended Posts

When I turn the key, you can hear the doors lock and then about 1 second later you hear them unlock. However, the arlarm is indeed engaged and any attempt to open the door will set it off. How do you fix it?

[TIP] If anyone else has this problem, I discovered a temporary "hack" to lock the doors, though it does requires 2 people:

Have someone on the passenger side ready with their hand on the handle. Turn the key and when it clicks, you both immediately press and hold down the handles. For whatever reason, this stops it from unlocking itself.

When this occurs check to see that both lock pins on the door top are depressing when locking. If one is not then the plastic ball linkage is likely off the pin and may be causing this. You have to take the door panel off of the one not depressing to inspect it.

      Hi,

My 99 996 has started beeping twice when I press the key fob.

It locks and then immediately unlocks.

Also when opening the drivers side door, the window goes down when handle is pulled but goes straight back up when the handle is released. So the window obstructs the door closing.

I have the following Durametric Alarm errors:
        11
      Voltage failure during alarm
      output
      Status: not present
      Frequency counter: 1 10
      Voltage failure at terminal 30
      with alarm system active
      Status: not present
      Frequency counter: 1 46
      Control locking synchronization

      Status: not present
      Frequency counter: 2 49
      K lead

      Status: not present
      Frequency counter: 1 21
      W lead (DME immobilizer)

      Status: not present
      Frequency counter: 1
What's the best way to proceed with fixing this?

      Thanks
      Ravi

      Hello Guys,

I got my 2014 Cayenne Platinum edition and it seems that the remote unlock and locking mechanism using my key fob does not work unless i am close to the vehicle, range is i would say 5 feet.
I tried to change the batteries on the key fob but issue still there, is there anything else i am missing or is it a design issue by Porsche that they corrected on a later versions ?

      Thank you,

I have a 2002 Porsche 996 Cabrio and earlier this year the immobolizer under the seat got wet.   I purchased a used immobilizer, key for and ECU behind the rear seat.  All of the parts came from the some year model etc.  I put the parts in myself and everything worked great.   Now i need a new key fob or atleast I think i do.  The remote work sometimes and most of the time is doesn't.   When its not working I cant lock or unlock the car with the remote and the front trunk will not open with the fob or the switch inside the car.  When the fob works everthing works as it should in the car.  Do you think this is a key fob issue or something else?   Can i even get a key head programmed since these part are from a donor car?  I do have the vin of the donor car.

      Please help!

Hi there, my Cayenne is telling me my driver's side door is open when it is not. This is causing the dome light to stay on. Not sure what the issue is and if can be fixed easily. Any info given is greatly appreciated, thanks!
