Need help from the collective: P1699

Recommended Posts

yes, I have used the search..

I'm reading conflicting info on this code. It comes across the dash (06 BoxsterS) when I pull it up in PIWIS, it says implausible signal from alternator?? (or something similar) Lost signal.

I have driven the car and data logged voltage (13.2-13.7) with all the lights on.. at night..

Thoughts?

P1699 Three phase generator, electrical fault

NOTE: The actual voltage supplied by the three phase generator deviates from the required setpoint voltage (13.5 ... 15.5 V).
Possible fault causes
- Drive belt incorrectly adjusted / faulty
- Three phase generator faulty
Would make sense to check the grounds too...troublesome on this series cars.

P1530 Time information via CAN missing or implausible

Possible fault causes
- Wrong software version in DME control unit (e.g. US data for EU vehicle)
- Wrong software version in gateway
- Wrong software version in instrument cluster
- Fault in CAN (e.g. loose contact)
- Instrument cluster faulty
I think it is time to check the grounds and battery. Too odd - and odd electrical faults usually point to the bad grounds or a weak battery in the 9x7-1 series.
