PCM/navigation issue

Hi, On my pcm 2.1 navigation, location is way off all the time. I checked the software version by pressing MAIN and TRIP, scrolled down to navigation, there is a triangle with a exclamation point inside, and there is no info on the software version. Any ideas what could the problem be?

Welcome to the interminable problem of the PCM ! Sounds as if the PCM doesn't recognise the DVD drive. Could be a faulty drive or software screwed up. There are instructions from Richard Hamilton on here as to how to work out the actual status of your system, http://www.renntech.org/forums/tutorials/article/268-summary-of-pcm21-updates/ which at least is a starting point.

Jam996 there was another thread in which the owner complained of a similar issue. It turned out that the cable to the DVD drive in the trunk was loose. Personally, PCM of any version is trash. You can now replace it with an aftermarket head unit, a MOST head unit replacement module and keep all your amps and speakers stock. You can get the Best NAV with either Kenwood or Alpine, perfect iPod integration and Bluetooth and much better sound!post-89070-0-78946000-1375643788_thumb.j This one is an Alpine INE-W927HD
