I recently purchased a 2004 Cayenne S and have not been able to get it inspected because of an engine check light, even though it seems to run fine. I purchased a Durametric dignostic kit and it is showing codes P2225 and P2227. Upper bank 1 & 2- Upper limit value exceeded, test conditions are not completed, fault is currently active and causing a DTC light. I took it to a local Porsche shop and they replaced a couple of vacuum lines, which did not solve problem. They then explained it was probably an exaust leak between manifold and catalitic converter, and it would require engine removal. I brought the truck back to the hanger that I have and had my best aircraft mechanics go over it and they say there is no exaust leak. Any help so I can get this back on the road. Thanks

1 Check EVAP canister
purge valve

Step 2 Replace EVAP canister purge
valve

173 universal test
box, 105-pole and
the 173-1 adapter
cable, DME 7.1.1
♦ Switch on the ignition
Measure signal voltage
between DME control
module connector:
♦ A, pin 29 and ground
♦ B, pin 109 and
ground
Voltage between 0.9 V and
1.1 V
Step 3
Replace faulty mass air flow
sensor
→ End
3 Check fuel pressure, volume supply of fuel
pump and injection valve (mechanically)
Continue troubleshooting in Engine Manual (Group 1) and
Fuel Exhaust Engine Electrics Manual (Group 2)
→ End

The last one is my bet, 04 at this age, one of the fuel pumps could be starting to go, mine went at 128K and others have gone as low as 50K

I had a chance to check fuel pressure, on start up it goes to 4, than after a few seconds it drops back to 2.5. While idling I pulled the fuse for the right pump, no change. Reinstalled right fuse and pulled left, pressure fell away and engine quit. I than started the truck with fuse for left still removed. It started, pressure went to 4 and stayed there. Drove it around and it performs better with the left pump fuse removed than with both fuses installed, I would say it ran good! Its too hot outside to mess with it anymore today, but I assume the left pump is bad?

      So yesterday, noticed the CEL (check engine light) came on (not flashing, just solid amber).
      Pulled the codes and reset all faults.
      Reseated my gas cap to ensure it is fully closed. Since I was almost empty of gas, filled up (not that it is very relevant ...lol).
      Today, after about 40 miles or so, CEL came back on again. Originally there were 2 codes (will post update with those), but after reset, only 1 came back (I imagine the other will return soon but we will see).
      Pulled codes with Durametric cable/sw, and here is what I got:
      ENGINE
      B3901
      Evaporative Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow - Upper limit value exceeded, test conditions are not-completed, fault is currently active and causing a DTC light
      Any ideas on what can be causing this error and how it can be fixed DYI?
      What maintenance items could be causing something like this? (my first thought - dirty air filters? - i have not checked them yet so do not know if dirty - got the car about 2 months ago).
      Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
