Howdy + maintenance question

Recommended Posts

Hi all, new to the club and wanted to say hello. Bought a 2001 a few weeks ago and have been having a blast with it so far.

This weekend I'm going to do a thorough cleaning, I'll post some before and after pics once I'm done.

I'm also planning to have some minor work done and wanted to get input on anything else I might want to consider while the car is in the shop. Current plan is oil change, brake flush, CV boots, spark plug seals. Major work done a couple of years ago: IMS upgrade, water pump, coolant flush, AOS, new plugs, serpentine belt, RMS replaced.

The passenger side window regulator has the slack issue I've read about so I'm hoping the barrel adjuster fix from 986forum will work for that, I need some struts for the front and rear trunks (can I get these cheap anywhere?), need to change the cabin filter, ordered a lighter upgrade and radio aux cable, gonna pull some interior trim pieces and touch them up... fun times ahead!

Cheers!

For the trunk struts you can check this DYI at Pelican Parts by pressing HERE

I have had good success by checking prices at Sunset parts (Located under the Special Offers Menu tab above) or run the part number thru Amazon. If you have a prime account you get free next day shipping!

Don't forget to post some pictures and Welcome!

:welcome:

Some pics after wash/clay/wax yesterday: http://imgur.com/a/D1Xt1. The color is Meridian Metallic. I must say I'm a fan, although I don't have much to compare it to. Very subtle.

I spent about 10 minutes polishing the headlights and I think they turned out alright for the time expenditure. No before shots but they were decently yellowed and had some light hazing.

Next weekend I'm planning to do some actual paint correction but I'm not sure the results will be all that much different. Coming from a black car I must say... this is great.
