TSB 213

Trying to replace a lost key on a 2002 996. New key physically unlocked door but now alarm won't shut off. Apparently there is a TSB 213 on dealing with this issue. Anyone have access to TSB 213?

Did you have the car with you when the key was replaced? -- that is required.

It does not sound like it was programmed properly.

Nope... lost the key. New key purchased from the dealer but as soon as we unlocked the car with the tumbler, the alarm started going off and now we can't get it turned off. The PWIS won't recognize the "alarm system". We pulled the immobilizer box out and can't figure out how to reset it so we can program the new key with RF pill.

The key and car MUST be programmed together with either a Porsche PST2 or PIWIS.

You will need the car's IPAS codes also to do this -- as well as a tech that knows what he/she is doing..

Yup... we got the PIWIS connected and can see that it says "Immobilizer Active" with a picture of an open circuit. We are trying to figure out how to change its state and apparently that TSB has some info in it on how to do that.

And yes, we have the IPAS codes... just not sure where to enter them in the PIWIS.
