I am happy to report that my 03 cab was the recipient of a miracle healing. No more check engine light, and it runs like a scalded cat. However, I have discovered that the rear passenger carpet is quite wet. We have had a great deal of rain in the last week. Any ideas on where the leak might be coming from? I see no obvious source. As always, thank you for your continued patience and expertise.

And here I am desperate after about a days worth of trying to figure out the problem
Basically the story is:
The car battery was empty, to the point it did not start. I called the dealer, they picked up the car and they changed the battery. When i got the car back, when the passenger door opens the door goes down 10cm but when the door is closed it doesnt go up again.
I called the dealer they put the car on the diagnostic and they told me that the problem is probably a vary small part on the locking mechanism of the door but they can only change the whole mechanism, quote $600. I said thank you and left.
I assumed its the door latch microswith. So i took the door appart, check the microswitch on the door latch, it was working, I gave it a good clean anyway and i put it back, problem pressist.
I though maybe its a problem with the connection inside the latch? Anyone knows the pinout of the latch so I can check without dissasembling it?
Maybe its the main door connector? Anyone knows the pinout there?
Anyone has any other ideas in general?

Several tutorials re: replacing rear quarter window weather seal say "raise window fully by pressing the microswitch in the "windscreen panel" while pressing the rocker switch - but - where the heck is the microswitch? Does the door panel upholstery have to be removed to get to it?
For a little while now, my passenger side window
has not been dropping down to allow the door to open/close. So I bought the
microswitch and went to install it on saturday. Well, it wasn't until after I
had the door panel off that I realized I don't have the triple square bit to
remove the latch assembly NO worries,
I'll put it back together and do the fix after I pick up the correct tool.
So after the door panel is back together, I fire it up and notice:
the power windows don't work
2- sunroof doesn't work
3- rear defroster
4- map lights don't work.
Now, what would pulling the
door panel off and putting it back on have ANYTHING to do with this list of
failures? I checked the associated fuses in block D of the fuse box. They were
all fine. Is there a relay connecting all of these features that may have
One other thing that I can't imagine would have an impact: When I
went to remove the door panel, the wires that go to the little orange LED in the
handle pulled out of the connector. I plan on picking up some wiring supplies at
radioshack to fix this, but its only the handle LED...if that is somehow wired
in series with the rest of those features...I would have to question Porsche's
sense in that.
Anyone know what might be going on here? Also, does
anyone have a wiring diagram of this car?

Issue - On the passenger side, when I open the door from outside, the window does drop down a little and stays down untill I close the door. But when the door is opened from inside, the window does not drop, and drops only when the door starts to open. Then stays down untill the door is shut, when it goes back up again.
Based on this scenario, and searching around here, i believe that the microswitch at the inside door handle is gone bad. I called the local dealer to order the microswitch. The dealer told me that 996 had 3 microswitches, but 997 has the inside switch integrated into the latch. So I have ordered the latch (about $180)
Can someone confirm if this is the case. Thanks a lot.
