Hi All:

Remote not opening doors/activating alarm ( 996/ MY 99/6 speeds/ C2).

The remote, 1 button, when pressed flashes but doors won't lock. Tried new battery, reset, manually opened car, pressed remote's button...no cigar.

Opened manually, inserted in ignition switch, turned to start, pressed button... no cigar.

With the PST2, how can I check if the locking /alarm control unit/s is recognizing the remote signal?

Thanks

Agree...buy new keyhead and make sure you get the code card that comes with it. Take it to the dealer for programming. The circuit board in the key head goes bad and there is no other fix. My 99 key head gave up the ghost years ago, so I just manually lock/unlock the door with the key. Works every time!

With the PST2, go to the Alarm Module >> Input Signals. You will see an option for the remote, and if you select it you will be able to test if the control unit is reading the remote signal.
