Cayenne 2004 cdr3 says protect

Recommended Posts

i have bought a 2004 lemon, thinking i'd repair it in a jiffy.
Bose speakers and a cdr23. All lights go on and it says Porsche for a few seconds with no sound then goes to protect. I have disconnected the battery to see if it would come back but nothing. None of the radio buttons respond so there is no way to enter a code.
I have no Porsche dealer nearby so i'll have to find a way to fix it myself. Being an aftermarket stereo or unlocking this one.
Can somebody please give me a hand here?

I'm fairly certain you are going to need to find a tech or dealer that has PIWIS to resolve your issue. It's a coding issue that needs to be read and applied/resolved between your PCM and your MOST system and head unit.

Had this issue on a Boxster, ended up pulling the entire system and replacing all with an aftermarket one.

Piwis i have been looking for since car has other issues as well and my Innova 3160 does not seems to be much of a help. I did some searching but i am not very shure which one connects to the most and pcm system. I also found some Piwis 2 tester but none of them says a word about clearing protect codes on radio. It just seems so sad to pay a lot of money for something that can't fix my radio. There is little to be found about these piwis testers. I guess the cpo on ebay won't tell me much more then my Innova.
