Where does the GPS Antenna for PCM 2.1

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to locate where the GPS antenna runs from the headliner. From the schematics, does it run up the passenger side of the dash or the drivers side of the dash? I pulled my PCM out to replace it and I think the antenna dropped somewhere in the back of the dash.

Dear Bobo83,

This is what I understand but I hope someone else out there can correct me if I am wrong.

The antenna wire never makes it to the center console as it is finally connected to the DVD player under the passenger seat.  Remember the vehicle communicates via the MOST link so the GPS antenna does not need to be connected to the PCM unit.  The GPS antenna itself is in the rear spoiler.

Which new head unit did you get?  I recently updated mine to a Dynavin N6.

Ooooh ok. I think that makes sense. Because on the back of the OEM PCM 2.1, I see a spot for the GPS antenna and when I look at the schematics it says there is a GPS antenna wire, but it does not say to where it goes. I'm wondering if there is away to tap into that GPS wire underneath the passenger seat. I'm assuming that the antenna/GPS unit is located under the passenger seat as fell for the 2008's?

I ended up buying a Dynavin N6 and I love it so far, minus the fact that I have no GPS signal. J&T is sending me another GPS antenna, so I'm hoping it will arrive shortly.

Welcome to the Dynavin club. My GPS antenna from Dynavin works good but not as good as the factory so I am in the process of extending the GPS connection from the seat to the new head unit. The GPS connection is female so you'll need a male connector on o e side of the new extension Fakra cable. If you want to talk further pls PM. By the way, is there oily residue ear the buttons of your Dynavin unit?
