Are the (4) larger circles for fiber optic - or - just locators - or - are their connectors inside?

Must be a connector on the newest cars... at least I do not recognize it.

looks like i can see right into the four large holes/pins and i can see the internal wiring of the connectors so it doesn't appear to fibre optic.

 

could this be a cup car connector?

I also noticed that ECS tuning sells this part.. for whatever reason. maybe i can email them...
