996 Front drainage holes

Recommended Posts

I recently went to clear my front drainage holes and accidentally pushed one in.  Does anyone know how I can access the area this would be pushed into?  It is the drainage hole on the driver's side.

What happens without the drainage plug there?  Is this a bug problem or does the water just drain under the car?

Thanks!

George

These drains are relatively important, they carry collected water down and out beneath the car.  If the drain has been pushed out, the water will now collect inside the car were it can get to electronic components as well as create rust.  How to get at it would depend upon which drain you moved and were it got to.

Thanks JFP.  The drain plug in question is the front driver side plug.  I'm guessing it could be accessed through the wheel well but haven't had a chance to take the wheel off yet.  If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the info.

Had this happen to me. I used some needle-nose pliers and plastic o-ring pick to grab it then pull it up and over the lip. Take your time so you don't rip it.
