1999 c4 vs 2002 c4s transmission

Recommended Posts

Do a search. :). I assume manual transmission? I just asked this same question a week or so ago. Apparently the answer is yes. The G96/30 and G96/31 are interchangeable. It appears the only real difference is that the G96/31 has an extra input shaft bearing. Gear ratios as well as bell housings are identical. I too am having my 99' C4's transmission replaced with a MK2 C4S transmission as I type this, what are the odds... What went wrong with your current gearbox?

Thanks for the input.   I have an oil leak as well as gear pop-out issue.

I read an article about the swap from G96/30 to G96/31 and found that the front output shaft is 2" longer.

Do you experience the same issue?
