I have a ticking noise which seems to get a little louder as car warms which gets faster with revs.

Cars had major service including plugs and coil packs, having another oil change this weekend as not sure right oil was used, dealer said at first they used Mobil 2000 10w40 semi then when challenged as not A40!they changed to Mobil 3000 fully 5w40... Not convinced.

Cars only done about 500 miles in 8 months so wondering if sticking lifter or if anyone else had had similar?

There are a multitude of reasons why one of these engines could be ticking; everything from lifter issues, to bad chain tensioners, and even the EVAP system purge valve under the intake manifold.  You need to open up the engine bay, get an automotive stethoscope and start checking everything for noise source locations.  There are no fast and easy ways to do this, you need to track down the source.
