Sorry for a question about aftermarket stuff, but anyone have experience with "TomTom GO Plus" or "Garmin StreetPilot c330"? Are they basically same? Looks like I can get much cheaper price on TomTom, but someone claims TomTom gives 'shortest' path instead of 'fastest' path...is it true? Any comments will be appreciated!

Best Buy has both I think. TomTom has a smaller screen and no side by side display. Also, I don't know about future map support w/ it.

Garmin display can be slow when you want to scroll around the map to look ahead. Otherwise, no issues.

I have TomTom Go and it is excellent! I have used both in the UK and here.

They have just brought out a new version of the operating system which has a lot of new features including being able to choose the shortest, quickest, walking or cycling routes. Also if there is a toll bridge, tunnel or road on your route it gives you the option of going around it.

It picks up sattelites better than any other GPS I have used and that is just using it's internal antenna.

I used it yesterday in my new (used) 2001 Boxster S that I picked up in Long Island to get me back to Manhattan which it did brilliantly. My Boxster has a PCM1, but the discs are bad so the Porsche dealer has ordered new ones for me.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

So the newer version of OS is included in 'current' TomTom GO Plus? Or do I have to wait for new one for 'quickest' path?
