Clutch Switch Replacement

Recommended Posts

2011 Boxster S

I purchased the Clutch Pedal Pedal Ignition Lock Switch Part Number 99761310950 to solve the issue with car not starting. This switch is attached with one torx screw secured by a nut. I think is it is a T10 screw but there is note enough space to get my socket wrench with the T10 bit on the torx screw. I tried to tackle this by loosening the nut but can't figure out the the size. An 8mm is too large and a 7mm is too small. I tried SAE size wrenches and none fit.  Any suggestions on what tools I need to loosen the screw and nut?

Jump the switch. I have failed 3.

No body starts a car without pushing the clutch!

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

Just be aware that jumpering or otherwise disabling a Federally mandated safety equipment device can get you a failure at your annual state inspection in many states.  These are also the kind of "cheap out" mods that liability lawyers love.
