My only FOB remote is failing after 10 years, I've changed batteries in it and now I'm having to open door with key on driver door. It's a 2000 carrera 4 Cabrio.

Called Niello Porsche dealer they quoted $485 to replace and program it.

I've heard that you can order fob remote head part from sunset porsche so I called them and they are priced at 149 plus shipping, which is good so does anyone know of a local Indy near Sacracramento, CA area that can program it fully for less than dealer dealer?

I was trying to get a second key for my 2006 997, but locksmith told me only Porsche can program the keys.  Even tried to get a used one reprogrammed by Porsche dealer, but it did not work. Only way is to buy a new key/transponder and let dealer do their expensive magic.
