It was $7 when I bought one in 2000. I think Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) has them for around $20.

Such a shame that Porsche has decided to gouge folks for this simple item.

Another reason to never throw anything away. I haven't had my 944 for over 15 years but the oil filter wrench comes in handy again!!! Worked great changing oil in GT3 and Cayenne... (have to justify to the wife why I don't throw stuff away... :)

Very good. Years ago I was told the 944 wrench was also used on the 996/986.

Go to your local parts place, find a 944 spin-on filter, then find the cup wrench that fits on the end of a 944 oil filter. Buy the wrench.

The wrench will then work on all current model Porsches with the plastic cannister that is shaped on the end like a 944 metal spin-on filter.

Sunset Imports just quoted me $27.84 for the 000 721 920 40 wrench.

It would have been nice if Porsche included a hex on the bottom of the

filter housing like VW did on the VR6 motors.
