Installed Aerokit Spoiler - Can't Open Trunk

I just installed the aerokit spoiler on my '00 996, and it looks great on the car. The installation went pretty smoothly, except I need to replace the old wiring harness with a new one so my third brake light will work again.

I am having trouble with the trunk release now. I can't seem to adjust it so that the trunk pops open on it's own when the trunk release lever is pulled. Someone has to manually pull the trunk open while another person pulls the lever. Does anyone have any advice on how to adjust the latch on the decklid to fix this?

On the 99 C2, you have to make sure that the latch is perfectly adjusted up and down. I have both Aero lid and stock lid and occasionally switch the two. It always takes some time to find the right position of both the latch on the car and the bracket on the lid.

I only tried adjusting the bracket on the lid. Do you find it necessary to adjust the latch on the car as well? I didn't even realize that was adjustable.

Yes. Loosen the 2 bolts that hold the latch and move it slightly up or down. In your case, I would suspect you need to move it slightly down. I normally just snug the bolts on the lid and latch when I first close the lid. This helps allow them to move into proper alignment.

Sound like a left-to-right adjustment is needed on the latch. When I installed mine, I had to spend a lot of time moving the latch around so it wouldn't bind on the side of the latch receiver on the car... Try lowering the lid as low as possible while still being able to eyeball if it looks like the latch is too much to the left or right and make adjustments.
