08 Cayenne GTS fuel smell (engine compartment)

Recommended Posts

Hello all, excited to be a member of such a great community. I recently acquired a 2008 Cayenne GTS 6spd and absolutely love it. Unfortunately I've noticed a fuel smell coming from the front of the car (drivers side of engine compartment). I've spent the last few days searching this forum and viewed many posts about fuel smells, but the majority of the posts cover the fuel smell related to the fuel pump area & smelling fuel at the drivers rear of the car.

My question is - has anyone had experience with the HPFP leaking or causing a fuel vapor smell? I can smell the fuel vapors in the area of the drivers side wiper cowl, and in that general area when I open the hood. The smell isn't very strong (yet) but it is noticeable to me. Are there any other parts in that area relating to fuel/emissions that can cause such a smell? There are no visible leaks as far as I can see - no check engine light, and the car runs beautifully. Its not my daily driver, and I'll have more time to investigate over the next week, just looking for pointers from members who might have had a similar experience.

Thanks so much in advance for any shared advice or tips.

Andre
