Door Lock Latch Actuator Mechanism

I have been having a problem with drivers door lock for a while and now the passenger side is acting up so I want to replace them both but looking online they want $300 each but looking around I see the VW one looks the same and its they are $40 each. Has anyone tried this before or do you have a suggestion?

From memory, I have read that the VW part is not direct plug and play, and sometimes develops problems.  I know that the OE units are expensive at around $300.  But this is one case where I think going original is best.  What if you install a door latch mechanism and it doesn't work?  Worse case scenario you can't get back in the car or the microswitches in the latch mechanism don't function properly.  What exactly are the problems?

the problem I'm having is some time I need to pull the handle a few times to open the door. Thanks I guess I will have to suck it up and order the new locks.

Does it do the same thing both outside handle and inside handle?

I replaced the drivers side a few years ago with a used one I bought off e-bay now the passenger one is doing the same thing.
