have a pair of original T-Track system roof bars that drop into the roof channels
You are suposed to slide and align with one of the 6 notched out positions.
Then close and lock the plastic end cap covers.

I have attempted this several times but the force required to close the end caps is so great that I am afraid that the plastic will break.
Has anyone experience/advice on fitting this system?

I thought the same thing when I first used mine. As long as they are properly in the locking slot on the tracks then your good. Make sure the key tumbler is in the right position (unlocked if I'm not mistaken) and push it closed.

I have managed to close the two on the left but the right hand ones are refusing to close.

I will open the left side and see if the right ones will then close.

The struggle goes on.

How did Porsche expect a woman to get these on?

If you don't see any grease on the hinges that could help in make it difficult. It only needs a little grease but definitely needs it to help open and close easier. Some silicone spray would help in the longer run, wd-40 is good but doesn't last as long.

There is a bit of a trick to it - if you feel around back of the mount, there is a small spring loaded lever that drops into the slot on the roof rail when it is in the correct spot. On mine, if you push this down a bit further so it is firmly in the slot, the side closes easier. If you have to force them, the locking lever might not be exactly lined up in the track. I practice, I just push the back lever down and shake the rack back and forth a bit until it feels exactly settled correctly, then the sides snap closed easily.
