Wiring Diagram help

Recommended Posts

I have most of the wiring diagram understood.

However, I'm confused about how to interpret

BOX E188

Normally I would read that as ROW 188, Column E on an electrical diagram.  But for a 99 Boxster

there are only 170 Rows.

thanks,

Mike

I think there is a page missing from the MY1999 Boxster schematics. If you look at later models E188 is on the Motronic 7.2 diagram - which seems to be missing. It also would imply that the "S" got DME 7.2.

S did get the 7.2 for 2000/2001.

What page is E188 on for the other cars (I suspect it's similar)

thanks,

Mike

Sheet 19 in the MY2000.

Yes grid E188 exists in MY2000, but contextually it doesn't make sense, it's the pin 86 on same relay Re/Bl, not the pin 30 Yellow -- So I don't think that is it.

Ironically there is an E188 connection as well, but it is the wrong wire to the same Relay (Re/Bl pin 86).

Additionally, the page 19 schematic is wrong -- as it shows K48 connecting a Re/Bl wire to Start Lock, which is actually K158.  (looks like the connections are transposed)

On the MY99, in context -- the signal doesn't have the a split connection on the pin 50, Yellow wire seen on 1999 to E188.

I'm wondering if that is also a schematics error on MY1999.
