2008 Cayenne S P1021 and P1026 (90K miles)

Recommended Posts

Greetings,  I was on my way back from Daytona Beach after attending the Rolex24.  Driving north  on I-95 with the cruise control on, the truck started hesitating and eventually the CEL came on.  I pulled over and smoke was coming off the back of the engine near the injection pump.  I drove the truck home 300 miles in this condition.  The engine idled fine (never shut it off) and the truck got 20 mpg all the way back.  I pulled the codes and P1021/P1026 popped.  At low speed and light throttle, it seems fine.  Today I started it and it was rough for a few minutes and then started to smooth out...then smoke came off the back of the engine.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  The closest dealer is almost 3 hours away from me so I would like to DYI this issue.
