Replacing cluster

Recommended Posts

Have 2005 Boxter Vin WP0CB29815U730432

Vehicle towed into shop. Attach Piwis, Zero communication (other than DME which is direct from OBDll) Subsequent testing with Piwis we have

concluded, the cluster is dead. This is the main "Gateway' for vehicle. Question, can we simply get a used one, recode for this vehicle?

Porsche want $3200.00 and 5 weeks from Germay.

Yes, you should be able to replace it with a used one and re-program - though the mileage likely can not be changed. In California you may need a certificate stating that if you ever sell the car.

Be sure to get like cluster - manual transmission and Tiptronic are different. As well, a compatible color.

You will likely need your car's IPAS codes to re-program.

Thank you. That's what we figured. Sourcing said cluster will be the hard part. Ipas info available from our dealer connection. Thank you for the timely response.
