2002 Boxster Transmission Issue

My son was driving my car that I just bought a few weeks ago and he said he was running along in 4th gear and the car basically went into neutral.  He had it towed home and when I returned from a trip I started researching what could be wrong.  You can move the shift lever into all gears without using the clutch and none of the gears engage.  I thought well it might me the cables so I jacked the car up and removed the passenger tire.  Had someone shifting the car and I check out the cables, all clips were looking good.  Everything is looking good, the main piston moves in and out when shifting, just no gears.   My assumption is that something inside the transmission is bad.  Any help?

Check your fulcrum pins.  They sometimes fail

 

I don’t have a picture, but there are two.  Location depends on which 5sp or 6 sp.
