Hello,

Two weeks ago I replaced my spark plugs and, other than the car adjusting after I started it for the first time (rpm was dropping, then it would stabilize, then back to normal...this only happened this once), everything seemed well. Today when I was driving I noticed my mpg average at 11.x mpg (I haven't driven the car much since the replacement.) I was not concerned but decided to reset it. It started showing a MPG at around 19.4 and then began dropping as I drove it (all my driving was at normal urban speed and acceleration.) I parked the car in my garage (at this point mpg at around 16) and, with the car stopped, watch it continue to drop until I turned the car off (at  around 14.2mpg.) So, any ideas? I got the Bosch FGR5NQE04 plugs (did not make any adjustments to them as I think they come pre-set for the car.)

Not really sure what is going on. Is the car actually using this much gas or the system is going crazy?!

I doubt it is real.  If you were leaking that much fuel, you would see or smell it.  If the car was running that rich, it would run odd and stink.  I think your trip computer is off.

It is resolved. I lifted the car, checked all bolts, tied them (found one or two not properly tied due to a last minute rush - lesson learned) and had to replace one. All in all, the car is running better and the MPG issue appears to have been solved. Not sure exactly what created the issue.
