Power Drivers Seat Only Moves 1/2 an inch

Recommended Posts

2002 C4

Started with the seat moving forward ok but back it would make noise and move slower. I unbolted the seat and after moving it back and forth trying to figure it out it now will only move about a 1/2 an inch back and forth. I tried using one of the other motors, but same issue. I don't see any obstructions.

I’d try lubing the spinning shaft that’s up there under the seat.  Sometimes can make a grinding noise.  There’s a cover to pull off and then you can shoot silicone spray lube up in. there. There are pics on the forum.  Check through the search engine.  Good luck.  Hope the mechanism itself it intact. Could be $$$.

When I removed the motor the cable that it drives is not attached. But after checking the other ones I see that it dosen't need to be. The track looks clear, I think its an issue with the transmission. I got a used one from Ebay for $120.
