 I have a problem with my Porsche Cayenne Turbo S 2009 and desperately need help. By selecting the suspension level my Porsche suspension goes up and down without a problem but the problem is with the sport mode selector. When I turn on my Porsche and select the sport mode, the selector light comes on and the suspension goes down and the Porsche flies like a rocket, but driving about half a km  the sport mode disconnects alone with a sign of sport mode failure and the car returns to normal driving.  Now, if I stop and turn off the engine and starts again,  the sport mode engages again,  but driving a few blocks, it disengages again. I took the car to a top automatic transmission specialist and he told me that the problem is a defective suspension selector (The Sport Mode Switch) and that it should be replaced, so they did at an expensive price. Now, with the new switch, the problem remains the same.  A very frustrating mystery.  The guys at the local Porsche dealer could not find the problem.  Only guessing and guessing while I am paying the hourly labor.
Does anyone know what is the problem and how it can be solved?
I appreciate your help ASAP.

 

 

THE MYSTERY IS ALL OVER.  TODAY MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE AIR SUSPENSION MODULE AND THE WHOLE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED.  REMEMBER GUYS IF YOUR EVER HAD A PROBLEM SIMILAR TO MINE FIRST CHECK FOR LEAKS.  IN THE EVENTS THAT THERE IS NO LEAK THEN YOU HAVE TO REPACE YOUR (AIR SUSPENSION MODULE) BECUASE IT IS DEFECTIVE AND YOUR PROBLEM IS ALL OVER.  YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE NEW MODULE HAS THE SAME NUMBER AND LETTERS AS THE OLD ONE BECAUSE IN THIS WAY IT IS A MATTER OF PLUG AND PLAY.  NOW IF THE LAST LETTER IS DIFFERENT FROM THE OLD ONE THEN THE MODULE HAS TO BE CODED.

I assume you have the correct fuel. Check the Sports mode exhaust flap is working because it may be the vacuum pump is leaking (common fault). Did you check the fault number and if so what is it?

Mine is the same model so I'm very interested in the fault.

Another thing that could be the problem is the MAF, could be faulty or dirty. Engine wise there is not much that changes except the mapping of the engine and transmission. The MAF if faulty would show up when the engine needs a lot of air and the air fuel ratio gets out of spec and the ECU reading from the other sensors don't add up. Also check both air filters. It should have logged a fault code that at first glance may not seem to be relevant but it may be.

Hi,

MAF and air filters are just fine. No fault number.  Now in reference of the Sports mode exhaust flap I really do not know where it is located.

Some people are indicating that the problem may well be in the air suspension module.  Yesterdays a friend of mine reset the computer by disconnecting the battery both cables then I drove about 7km with the sport mode engaged without a problem then it disengaged alone.
