Lost Radio Code - post your request here

Recommended Posts

Hey Loren,

I searched thru other post but could not find a solution.

Radio Code Issue after battery replacement:

2002 C4S

Becker1

4362

#15004153

24/99

Problem is...radio only says "MUTE" and does not ask for a code...which I don't have anyway..

It allowed me to get SN's and radio type after holding TP but then returns to MUTE when radio is turned OFF and ON...

Any suggestion?

Thanks a million!

jon

Did you try pushing the volume button? that turns mute on and off.

For your code

try 0968

or

0966

Thanks Loren for the suggestion.....It was not the MUTE switch....

When I replaced the battery...I was hoping that if I R & R'd the Battery quickly enough with the help of another person (<30 sec), maybe there would be enough capacitive charge or luck to avoid the radio code issue....

I'm not sure what happened but looks like the radio "locked up" in "MUTE" mode.....Volume/Mute switch would not toggle between Mute and Volume states.

At any rate, I re-disconnected the battery, waited 60 sec's and reconnected.

The radio then asked for the codes, I entered and everything is back to normal.....

Many thanks....

I suppose the radio locked up with my initial quick battery change.

It would not go out of MUTE display initially no matter what I did.

jon :D

Loren - these don't seem to work. I checked the serial # again and it is correct. Is there another code(s) I should try?

Loren,

Great job on the site. I've read some many of your posts. I've run into the same dead battery issue. So after having all that fun looking for the hood release without jacking up the car, I now need the code for the radio. Much thanks in advance.

Please help with radio code. Becker 1, Type 4462, Serial 15001759.

Thanks!

Try 2539

or

2537

I tried those two codes as well as 2533, 2535, 2538, 2541, all no luck.

I actually have a 996, not a 986. But I don't think it should matter.

I will try a few more combinations tomorrow night (three wrong inputs and I have to wait an hour before I can try another three times), but I might be in the unlucky 5% where the program doesn't work :(

Thanks anyway! :renntech:
