Hi, I have a 1999 Boxter, and need the code for my radio after a dead battery.

4462

15n88037

i think that’s the serial number. The third number/letter looks like an upside down capital U, so the only thing I could guess was an n. If you have a better guess, let me know.

thanks,

blayne

Did you use the procedure in the Lost Radio Code FAQ to get your serial number?

If not, please do so and re-submit. Thanks.

Loren,

That worked like a charm. You saved me, thank you so much. I appreciate your efforts and the fact that you perform this service for us fellow Porsche enthusiasts. If you are ever in Las Vegas let me know and I'll gladly buy you dinner.

Cheers!!!

I have a 99 Boxster base model. I had to disconnect the battery so I did the trick to find the code-

-Turn off radio.
-Hold down the TP button for at least 10 seconds.
-Turn the radio on. "Becker 1" will be displayed.-
-Rotate the right knob slowly, as it will display the Becker model number.
-Rotate again and radio serial number will display on radio display.
took pictures

Going through the cycle with the right knob, it showed me:

BECKER 1

TYPE 4462

SER: X5021117

48/98

GAL: 00

AUX OFF

CDP2081

After reconnecting the battery, I turned on the radio and it told me to enter the code, so I entered 4898. Then the readout said WAIT and still does, after leaving it for 10 minutes, driving it, turning it off and on again, etc. Then I looked under the frunk and saw handwritten on the paper sticker "Radio 5430." Couldn't figure out how to re-enter a code, so I disconnected the battery for half an hour, and when I reconnected the battery, the readout still says WAIT. Do I keep waiting, and till what? If I can override with the new code, how do I do that? Thanks!

From the Lost Radio Code FAQ... "I get a WAIT on the display - what do I do?
You have to wait at least 30 minutes before trying again."

Then try 5430

Thanks. But I drove the car another 70 or 80 minutes (after posting) and the WAIT never went away. Do I do something to override it? TIA.

DISREGARD! The problem resolved itself. I took a 30 minute drive, and it persisted, then the car sat an hour, and after a 20 minute drive it was ready to take the handwritten frunk code.
Since 48/98 wasn't the code, can anybody tell me what that and the other bits of information on the display were?

48/98
GAL: 00
AUX OFF
CDP2081
