Is there any way of doing a hand over reset on my 2006 Porsche Carrera 4s convertible with my purschased Durametric software?

if yes; please help;  if no;  is there another way to get it done aside from dealer intervention.

my Homelink and heated seats no longer function after battery replacement.

Welcome to RennTech :welcomeani:

You cannot do that on your model with the Durametric system, you need access to a PIWIS unit (factory diagnostic system).

Is this common?   A battery replacement should NOT require a trip to the dealer or mechanic - for any car.

I agree but this is what I’m reading on all the forums… do you guys think it may just be the fuse?  If so; do any of you know which one it could be.

This phenomenon is not unknown; when the battery goes weak, communications with one or more modules can be lost.  When that happens, the module needs to be reinitialize, which requires the correct diagnostic system.

I’m from Montreal;  does anyone know someone in the area that can do this aside from the dealer?

I doubt you will find anyone outside of the dealer with a PIWIS.  While I have seen a few that have it, it's too cost prohibitive for most independent shops (something like ~$10K/month).  When you need access to a PIWIS you usually just need to bite the bullet and go to the dealer.
