Hybrid will not start after using scanner to clear code

Recommended Posts

Hello! My 2013 hybrid will not start after using my scanner to clear a check engine light. I had a check engine light/yellow Hybrid fault system so I replaced a relay since I had this problem before and replacing the relay cleared this problem for me. The check engine light was still on after replacing the relay so I cleared the code on my scanner to see if it would help clear the light but now the car will not start!

I found this really weird since my car was driving just fine in the morning and it started up after replacing the relay. I assumed I blew a fuse since I have blown fuses before using the scanner but all the fuses are fine. I added the old relay back but that did not help.

All the lights on the dash, the radio, and the interior lights turn on but my car will not turn over. I get a red "generator fault" and a yellow "hybrid fault system" after attempting to start the car. I got a new battery installed last weekend and the battery is fully charged so I do not think it's the battery.

I would appreciate it if anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be.

Thank you!
