Frunk won't open. Can hear actuator. Emergency wire not connected. Good battery

Recommended Posts

Title says it all. Key fob and interior switch both work and I can hear the actuator motor in the front. After a hundred or so button flips, I now have bumper cover loose(except for under the hood obviously) and have used a borescope to visualize everything. That emergency cable was clearly not in the proper slot as the wire came out about 12" before the cable housing began collapsing as the emergency cable was pulled from the left front fender well.  Several days and attempts later, now pulling from up inside the front bumper area the cable and housing broke. Several bloody knuckles, and now wrist, I have exhausted the options.

There is no way to access the actual emergency lever from below the lock body. Any other ideas before I cut into the hood?! My last resort is ventilating the hood below the crest to drill out the two bolts for the piton. Don't fancy doing bodywork to it but if I had a spare hood it would already have been cut.

Thanks in advance,

Dave
