lowered suspension

Recommended Posts

I bought a used 98 boxster which came lowered. I want to raise it back to the original height. How can I tell if the springs were changed or shock were changed. Can a car be lowered with only changing shocks, this is because the springs on the car look original.

It would be the springs, not shocks, that make the Boxster lower. The shocks may or may not have been replaced when the shorter springs were installed. It is done both ways but wouldn't really affect ride height either way.

You may have aftermarket springs or Porsche ROW030 (European Sport Suspension). Aftermarket usually drops the car an inch or more, and ROW030 less than 1 inch.

Why do you think the springs are original? Can you see a Porsche part # on them?

Where are you located? The non-US M030 suspension lowers the car. If you can see a part # or manufacturer anywhere on the springs, post it her. It would be a great help.
