Textar and ATE both make pads for Porsche.

Are those Zimmerman rotors cross-drilled like yours?

I would stick with cross drilled or get OEM cross-drilled from Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) or Brembo. JMHO

I will be doing the rotors and brakes this week. Loren posted a lint of a video describing the process and, for all the money in the world, I can not find it again. I need the size of the bolts needed to insert in the drilled holes in the hub to help separate the rotor from the axle. Anyone has this info? Thanks guys!

Just did the rear pads.

Only issue was one of the dampener separated itself from its backing plate (the plate that glues itself to the back of the pad).

At the end I put the old plate back with the new pad. will try to get the old dampener out when doing rotor change.

Used brake cleaner to get the pin out and the sensor. I broke the sensor through the old pads. just move the sensor sideways and use a screwdriver to clear its way through the old pad.

Total 2 hrs for me, using Textar bought from Design 911 in the UK.

Since I am a novice at changing the brake pads I found out a couple things on the way that helped me. One using the pliers to remove the brake pads really did not work very well. I instead used a large screwdriver. I inserted it between the top of the pad and the caliper and they just pop right out. Two removing the sensor from the pad did not work either. I actually tried it on both sides and came to the conclusion it was easier to remove the cable with the pad and just throw it away. installing the pad was a little more tricky for me as I tried it several ways and finally figured it out that it was easier if I installed the other pad from the top in and use a rubber mallet to hammer it in. On the inner pad I put the pad in from the bottom and used the rubber mallet. The vibration dampers did cause me some issues and trying to put them in together with the pad just did not work for me. The first one took me about 45 minutes until I got it done and the second one about 15. I cleaned and touched up the paint my calipers.

Last time my friend and I removed the caliper from the right front wheel of my 2000 996, one of the caliper bolt did not feel very mooth going in, we might have stripped the thread in the frame. Now it is time for me to replace the pads and rotors again, would anyone help to advise how to tap the thread on the frame where the caliper bolt goes in. What tap ize should I get? Any special procedue? Thank you.

Are there any recommended aftermarket pads to use? Suncoast has a couple of options, but you guys always know the details. Recommendations from this site have helped me so far, so I'm sticking to them..
