Anyone have any good experience with Sumitomos?

I can get all four tires for my 02 C for under $650

Please let me know.

I had them on my TT Supra a few years ago and for the price they were a decent tire. For just a bit more I prefer the Yohohama ES100. If you do search on tire rack you can get some performance data and comparisons on them.

Thanks for the info Shawn.

I checked pricing on the Yokohamas and their up there with the Mitchellins, etc.

I think I'll give these a try.

I've used them on a '79 911SC & '99 996 Cab...

Great tire for the money. Excellent dry, good wet traction and EXTREMELY quiet. Very good looking tire.

They wear fantastic and seem to last much longer than Pirelli or Brigestones I've used.

Biggest problem for me now is that I prefer 285's on the rear and I don't think Sumi has this

tire in that size.

Not the best performance tire that you can buy, but good performance at an unbeatable price.

Actually they do make a 285/30/18, which is the rear tire size I will be purchasing.

I still cannot believe I am getting 4 tires, installed and balanced for $590.00 total, what a deal.

No, through Westside Tires in Culver City, California. This is a wholesale price through a friend that owns a body shop.

If you need, maybe I can get you the same price. Let me know.

The ride quality is the same as on the OE tires. I have not noticed any difference yet as I just had them installed last Friday (11/25/2005). I will take a drive through the canyons (twisties) this weekend.

Although the Sumitomos do seem a little louder at low speeds. I did hear somewhere that they do get quieter once they wear a little.

I still can't believe the price! Amazaing.

I also found out from the installer at Westside Tires that Sumitomo tires is what Beverly Hills Porsche purchases for all their CPO vehicles.

Hey Gabo2k, can you still get the same deal on those tires? - If so, I sure would like to order a complete set for my 99 C4. 225 and 285's like yours. Please PM me and let me know. Thanks
