Evolution Motorsports V-flow

Recommended Posts

Just picked up 06 C2S Cab and am going to change intake among other things. Wanted to know opinions on EVO V-flow intake system. All comments welcome.

Thanks

I have the EVO intake on my 06 C4S no problems. Was thinking it would make an ircreased sound of air intake, but I can hardly tell unless the top is down. I also had the GIAC flashing to the ECU.

I ordered the intake. Had the tubi exhaust put on the other day.. sounds great. Will flash after after another 1000 miles

I took a ride in my friend John's 997S with the EVO intake, Suncoast Motorsports headers, Fabspeed sport mufflers and GIAC chip. The power is greatly improved from stock. There is a lot more intake sound from the EVO intake versus the stock intake. There's a bit of resonance in the cabin but it's not objectionable if you like a more sporty sound anyway.

I have a 997 3.6 liter with the Suncoast Motorsports headers, PSE and factory intake - it's got a completely different sound than my friends 997S described above. His sounds like a louder version of the stock sound, mine sounds like an old 12 cylinder Ferrari. We were both surprised how different the cars sound.

We're going to the drag strip in two weeks to see what they'll run. I've already driven my car at Sebring so I know how it handles with the Euro -20mm suspension, he's got the stock PASM setup.

Did this void your warranty? Is there a significant, noticeable performance increase?

Warranty for what? The dealer may not warranty your MAF with the new intake (although mine did), but it does not blanket void the warranty. With the ECU flash (you can get one that is able to be set back to stock and is virtually undetectable by the dealer) and intake...(and exhaust)...you will definately notice an increase in performance.

Can you tell me if your PSE is the one that changes with the sport button pushed (costs2400). That is what I have on a 997S and I want to do the mods similar to your budies but a lot of parts people say that the gains will be less becasue the factory PSE just is a noise box and I should loose it right from the start to do it right. When you do get done testing against your fiends car, can you tell me if you would live with your friends sound every day over the PSE. It seems that I drive with that button pushed in all the time any how, but I want to try and save some of the $2400 it cost to add.
