Aftermarket FM Modulator to 987 Antenna Possible?

I have an '05 987 with the mid-tier stereo option and have an old, but new, Sony CD changer with an FM modulator which I would like to install. The Sony requires hooking into the antenna connectors of cars but I fear the 987 and its windshield antenna lacks a standard antenna coupling to the head unit.

Does anyone know if a DIY install like this is possible and have any links, diagrams or photos?

Thank you in advance.

Porsche quoted me about $1,600 to have one of their changers installed. Doh!

an in-line FM modulator will work just fine on your 987. These FM modulators connect at the antenna connector on the back of the radio.

At worst, you may have to get a connector adapter for the Modulator, but it will work just as on the car you took it off of.

Thanks so much! Now that I know it can be done, is there anywhere you can direct me to find instructions on safe access to the back of the radio (cluster removal or???) and 12V power in the front trunk?

You need radio removal tools from Porsche (recommend Suncoast) or Becker. They are less than $2, but you might get a bigger shipping/handling fee. Not sure if the fone connector is there in 987 as on 986, but it has switched and always on power. Harness avail from Becker if you don't want to tap into it.
