to purchase a 1998 993C2S with factory installed Aerokit Turbo II F/R Spoilers, and I want to remove the rear spoiler to replace it with a stock split grill engine lid. My question is pertaining to whether the factory installed wiring for the retractable spoiler, at both engine area as well as the switch area?

As I recall the split grill engine lid is the Aerokit I spoiler (one of three types sold). I don't have instructions (or I may have them and can't find them - LOL) for the Aerokit II but I suspect it is similar to the Aerokit I which removed the fuse, the spoiler warning light and removed the switch in the dash.

Loren,

Thanks for the reply. Do you think the wiring would be there, and all I would need to do is connect it, and install and wire a switch?

Yes, I think so.

Loren,

I just looked at the pics of the car I am buying, and the rear spoiler is different than the illustration you posted. On the car I am buying, It has the Factory installed Aerokit Turbo II f&r Spoilers. I notice that there is no wiring to the underside of this rear spoiler. I want to replace it with a factory split grill engine lid with the integrated moveable spoiler. On the stock lid I am looking at, it has a wiring harness that has a plug connector on the end of it. My question is, did the factory supply the wiring for this type lid even though it came with the Aerokit? Is it just tucked under the insulation, and be just a simple plug in connection at that point?

Thanks.

I think there was a control unit (box) for spoilers (except RS and turbo) . You may need to look at another 993 and compare what is there and what is not.

When I get the car home and have a chance to look it over, I will re post any questions.

Thanks
