Pics of Lowered 987 with 19" Carrera S wheels?

Recommended Posts

The best I could see is the yellow 997 on this page. It definitely needs to be lowered because the stock height leaves too big of a gap. Not too much, but a little gap that looks much better smaller.

This one is not bad but I think it would be better dropped a bit.

My 05 987 S is in the shop right now getting some mods including HR springs, that apparently offer a drop of 35mm. I have carreraS 19's on my car and will post the pics as soon as i pick it up.

Hi do you know any springs which will only lower the car by around 0.75"? i have 19"s on slightly larger rolling diameter, it is going to be VERY LOW if use something like the H&R. i wont be get into any carpark in hong kong!

Why lower it ? It may look slightly better , but if it is going to make the car less usable then it seems vanity is getting the better over practicality. The PASM system offers lower springs (10mm), but if you change the spring you should also change the damper to make a matched set. This is probably what you are looking for , unless you get an adjustable ride height set up , which is going to be expensive.

So I got my car back from the shop: it is a 05 987S which is now lowered 35mm (H&R), also done was a techart body kit, clear corners and the cayman side grills - i love the way it looks, exactly what i wanted:)

Now as for the ride, I scrape on every speed bump or driveway unless i am going very slow....but thats okay by me.

Performance wise, much better at low speed tight turns, but on the highway on sweepers, not too much difference! the ride is very soft feels stock, unless you go over a large pothole or expansion joint. IMHO, I need more time in the car before I can confirm that theese initial observations are true. I will post pick when I return home, as I am away from my car due to work for the next 3 days.

If you are looking for a milder drop try maybe techart, i think it is a smaller drop.

one more...

<_< ...

short of the techart kit, I've got the same car (color, wheels, etc). Either the angles of the photo or the camera phone don't seem to do the results any justice.

Ive decided not to lower the car as Im unsure what the effect will upon the PASM...but anyway I finally got the car back after 3 weeks having the engine replaced (IMS failure)... but im really happy i can drive it now. and i dont regret buying this over a 6 yr old 996 convertible which is similar cost. the car is pretty much stock standard except some nice 2-tone 2-piece 19" wheels, techart skirts and front lip and some factory options. Although I havent revved it yet, its a big diference to my 986 2.5 which I used to have...
